We worked with Marcel to build our beautiful custom home, and we’re certain we wouldn’t love it as much if we had done it with someone else. Anyone who has built a home knows how many fits and starts there are as you build each section, rethink a few things, pick finishings and manage the delivery of those finishings, all while adhering to a budget; it’s a highly variable, multi-step, complicated process with what seemed like a hundred moving parts. Marcel was the ideal partner. He worked hand-in-hand with us from the start: identifying the land (which was off the market), helping us negotiate the purchase, connecting us with an architect, putting us in touch with great people who helped us select our finishings and working with us to ensure that the building process supported our allergy situation. Perhaps most importantly, he was unfailingly patient while also maintaining vigilance over schedule and budget. What’s also great is that we have a constant resource for questions. We’ve lived in our home for three years. If I ever have a question or need to meet with a vendor—and don’t have the answers to their questions—Marcel is there. He knows the house inside and out, and never hesitates to swing by and solve an issue regardless of how minor. He was a great partner throughout the build and a valuable resource today. We recommend him enthusiastically.  

Maillet & Son built our home, and it was done on time and on budget.  They were great to work with through the whole process -- very accommodating about making changes to the original plans when we wanted to move some walls and reconfigure the master bedroom suite.  Marcel is very even-keeled and kept everything and everyone moving in the right direction.  He's a good listener, and a good communicator.  Because he's got so much experience he could present options and also recommendations, which were much appreciated.  If we ever build another house I would definitely hire Maillet & Son again!

We met Al & Marcel Maillet in 2002 when we bought our house, which they built. Since that time we have hired Maillet & Son for everything from an in-law addition to a basement renovation. Our experience has always been the same. When Marcel tells you something will be done by a specific date, then it is done. When Marcel gives you a quote, that's what the job will cost. The finished project will be beautiful. Everyone who has been in our home that is affiliated with Maillet and Son has been courteous and professional. We recommend them without hesitation and we personally wouldn't hire anyone else.

We have had two renovations completed by Maillet and Son at different properties. The first one included replacing the roof, all the windows and doors, and siding at our approximately 1,000 sq ft  ranch home. The work was excellent and increased the value of our home by establishing a beautiful curb appeal. The improvements also cut our heating costs in half while we enjoyed a warmer winter.

Our second renovation was at our current 2,300 sq ft contemporary split and included replacing the roof, windows and doors, skylights, exterior trim, new paint colors on exterior siding, new garage doors, a large deck, and custom built in shelves and cabinets in our family room. We are very pleased with the results. The built in shelves were added in an awkward triangle-shaped location and turned out to be a focal point for the room. It's one feature that gets frequent comments from visitors.

Marcel's attention to detail and making sure that everything is done just right creates the perfect amount of trust I look for in a contractor. Having work done in your home is stressful and he ensured that tasks were completed in an efficient way that disturbed us the least.

Marcel Maillet helped us figure out how to accomplish what we envisioned for an addition of a sunroom, mudroom and terrace to our house and added tremendous value throughout the entire process from design to execution.  We truly appreciated his experience and attention to detail, budget and timeline—and his responsiveness to ideas and questions we had along the way.  The partners and vendors he brought to the project did excellent work and we are delighted with how everything turned out.

Maillet and Son put in a shed dormer on our 1960's cape, and we absolutely love the extra space and our full upstairs bath.  The price was reasonable enough that we also had our entire roof re-shingled. Visitors have commented several times that the addition looks like a natural part of the house.  Thank you Marcel, for the beautiful (and fast) work! 

We first came across Maillet & Son in 2003. My fiancé and I were living in the Back Bay of Boston at the time, and were looking for a house in the suburbs. We looked at over 100 houses in several towns in MetroWest, and after not finding anything that was the perfect fit, we switched gears to Sudbury. It was on our radar as we were planning our wedding at the Wayside Inn, but until then we hadn’t thought about it as a place to live. It was the best decision we ever could ever have made, as we love living in Sudbury and have found our “forever home” where we are raising our family.

Maillet & Son built our home, and as soon as we walked through it, we knew it was “the one”. We liked the attention to detail; and the layout of the house is so perfect for how we live - there is a cherry and glass bar he built in the center of the open floor plan we use for entertaining guests. There was a builder's office with a separate entrance above the second garage banks, and little did we know at that time, that we would end up having twins and that space would become our nanny suite. This house was meant to be!

Over the years since, we've hired him to finish our basement and do some other projects around the house. Marcel is fair and honest, and you can trust him to do what he says he’s going to do when he says he is going to do it. He even helped us out of a pickle when we tried to do a DIY project that was over our heads. He is priced fair for the quality of his work and is easy to work with. I recommend him highly!

I've had Maillet and Son perform renovations on two houses and they've done fantastic work. The work and materials were top notch which dramatically improved the curb appeal and enjoyment of each house. Marcel listens to what you want and offers expertise making the end result beautiful.
